A Tribute to Peru’s Merchants

The Pisac Market in Cusco is one of the most famous artisan marketplaces in Peru, drawing in tourists and natives alike. The vibrant fusion of colors dances before an expansive mountain landscape, guaranteed to brighten anyone’s day. Blankets, alpaca sweaters, ponchos, and other traditional souvenirs draw you into the scene, leaving pockets empty but hands full. But the story isn’t complete without our heroes, the merchants—spending their days and, more often than not, evenings manning booths, communicating in English, and finally hurrying home to their family. We often overlook integral roles like these—and so it’s critical that we thank artisans for giving us such unforgettable memories and lively smiles.
