Kim and Kanye’s Divorce
On January 5, 2021, the tabloid Page Six reported that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were filing for a divorce. According to multiple sources, Kardashian has been focused on becoming a lawyer and starting her prison reform campaign. However, according to sources close to Kardashian, West’s unpredictable behavior and refusal to take care of his mental health have caused their relationship to reach the breaking point. Furthermore, West no longer wants to be part of the famous family reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and according to one source, no longer wants anything to do with the family.
Kardashian has made it clear since mid-2020 that she wants to file for a divorce. Although the couple has been going to marriage counseling, both parties know Kardashian is ready to leave. West is living in Wyoming, and according to sources in contact with TMZ, is bracing for the divorce filing. Kardashian has remained in Los Angeles to figure out her next steps. While Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have a lot of differences spanning every area of their lives, TMZ has been told by close sources that their parenting goals remain aligned.
Kim Kardashian’s main goal, according to sources speaking with E! and Entertainment Tonight is to make sure that she makes the best decision for their kids. As a result, she has yet to file for a divorce, spurring rumors that she and West are getting back together. Sources have made it clear, though, that saving the marriage is no longer an option. Instead, Us Weekly explained in a new report this week that Kardashian and West are trying to figure out a divorce settlement before she files for a divorce.
Rumors have also been flying around that West has had an affair, presumably with beauty guru and influencer Jeffree Star after TikTok star Ava Louise hinted at the possibility. However, it has come out that Louise made up the cheating rumors for clout, and the remaining details were spun together by internet gossip fanatics, picking and choosing “evidence” that pointed to a relationship between Star and West. Star has responded to the comments saying that they are definitely untrue, and sources close to both Kardashian and West made it clear as well that there was no third party involved in the split.
In an interview with Page Six, a source said Kardashian “needed to end the marriage for the sake of her kids and her own sanity.” However, as a whole, the Kardashian-West clan has stayed remarkably quiet on the subject matter, and much of the information on the divorce has yet to be released. Time will tell what is truly going on behind the scenes of one of Los Angeles’ most prominent celebrity couples.
