Inside Adam Levine’s Cheating Scandal

Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine is reportedly throwing his eight-year marriage and (almost) three-child partnership with model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Behati Prinsloo out the window. How do we know? Through his alleged DMs with several women which have gone viral, sparking jokes and memes about his messages on the internet.

On September 19, Instagram model Sumner Stroh (@sumnerstroh) posted a TikTok alleging that she had an affair with Levine for almost a year, sharing screenshots of messages she said Levine had sent her. The DMs included messages from Levine such as “It is truly unreal how f—ing hot you are … Like it blows my mind”, as well as Levine asking Stroh if he could name his third child after her.

The following day, on September 20th, 2022, Levine posted a statement on his Instagram story, refuting the affair and reaffirming that “My wife and my family is all I care about in this world.”

After he posted the statement, several more women came forward with screenshots of DMs allegedly sent from Levine, including the infamous “Holy f—ing f—k… That body of yours is absurd” and “I may need to see the booty” messages, reportedly sent to Instagram model Maryka (@mvrykv_).

Although Stroh’s TikTok went viral, garnering 1.4 million likes in two days, not all responses were positive. Though many comments expressed shock at Levine’s actions, many users also criticized Stroh for attempting to appear as a victim, stating that the only victims in the situation are Levine’s wife and children. In a follow-up TikTok, Stroh explained that she felt exploited because she was vulnerable in being “new to LA,” and she was being manipulated by a celebrity who wanted her to believe his every word.

Levine’s alleged messages to these women have sparked a new trend in meme culture. Since the DMs have leaked, many internet users have taken to using Levine’s “That body of yours is absurd” message as a meme template, editing the screenshots to make it appear that Levine was responding to a funny image. Others have used his “It is truly unreal how f—ing hot you are … Like it blows my mind” texts in memes. For instance, on September 21st, 2022, Twitter user @takeyourzoloft used the screenshot to tweet, “Me to my MacBook after using it for 30 minutes.”

Levine’s wife, Prinsloo, has yet to publicly comment on the cheating allegations.

In the same vein, Ned Fulmer of the Try Guys has also been removed from the group following his cheating on his wife with the Try Guys’ producer Alex Herring (read more on their scandal here). Is love even real anymore?
