Politicians at a Playground

Politicians at a playground bounce like toddlers

on creaking seesaws, swing like children

on tire swings, laugh like babies

without a care in the world

Hulking bodies crack the structures

Children at court fight like lawyers

for their lives, act like adults

to survive, plead like beggars

whose lives waste away

They break under the stress

Boys will be boys, they

play silly games, they

have screaming contests, they

chase girls around

Strength is all you need

Girls will be girls, too

weak and too cowardly, too

docile, too fierce,

always understood

To be the perpetrator

They are playing war

Everything shatters

The war is real
